Cesar Sanchez

Cesar Sanchez became motivated to start his career in the fitness industry as a result of working towards improving his own health. In learning how to address his own obesity and structural deficiencies, both of which brought him significant muscular pain and health problems, Cesar developed the knowledge, experience, and understanding necessary to become a personal trainer. As his career progressed, Cesar’s passion for understanding the foundations of true wellness led him to studying and learning different functional movement and holistic practices with the purpose of cultivating health and biomechanical integration.

Cesar's approach towards health and training is based on educating and teaching clients. By focusing on nutrition, proper breathing, and myofascial release, Cesar assists clients in stress and pain management to address environmental factors and bring their physical structure back to balance.

In his approach to physical training, Cesar employs a variety of integrated dynamic movement patterns using tools such as kettlebells, clubbells, medicine balls, and bodyweight exercises. Cesar’s method of training prepares the human body to move in multiple planes of motion, fulfill the demands of real life situations, and help his clients feel great about themselves as they get into the best shape of their lives.

Missy is a Z-Health Master Trainer, Co-Founder of Death of the Desk, and owner of Missy Bunch Fitness. A dancer since the age of three, Missy developed her fascination with the human body and it's complexity at a very young age. By focusing on neurology and teaching the importance of brain function and customized training programs for clients, she believes that by using the nervous system to rapidly "debug" our movement patterns, decrease pain and increase performance, we can create lighting-fast improvements.

While earning her BA in Dance at San Francisco State University, she served as a modern dance assistant, and went on to be a professional dancer for the Golden State Warriors.

Ryan believes one can and should be strong, capable and resilient. When owning the capacity for these three qualities, he believes you will achieve everything that you want out of life. Strength comes in many forms, but being physically strong is an easy entry point with many desirable byproducts including: fat loss, bone health, disease prevention, mood, confidence and ultimately becoming a more capable human. When you train your body and brain the right way, you’re ability to weather life’s storms is easier.

Ryan is a strength coach with training in kettlebells, bodyweight and barbell from the StrongFirst organization, as well as a movement coach with training from the brain-based education company Z-Health. His specialties include movement restoration, rehabilitation and strength training for general population.

Coming from a self-taught background, AJ's coaching philosophy strives to promote independent thought from those that train with him so that they can use their knowledge and experience in practical application. His fitness journey launched during his years of active duty service in the military and uses his varied training background to teach skill sets from different perspectives.

AJ is a movement and strength coach, specializing in body weight movement, kettlebells, and barbell training. He appreciates the "back to the basics" approach and teaches students how to crawl, sit (squat), walk, run, balance, climb, lift, and carry as it all applies to daily life. Most of all he likes to have fun and make “working out” as playful as possible.

AJ's passion has been and continues to be movement. Body-weight movements make up a bulk of what he believes in. He takes a very conscious approach to his own practice targeting mobility, joint strength, and proprioception. Os Aponte has been a highly regarded and successful personal trainer in San Diego since 2005. He began by working at Results Fitness and Urban Body, bringing clients through various programs to fit their needs; including body weight, strength and conditioning training, and conventional training. In 2008, Os gained his RKC certification (Russian Kettle bell Certified) in Kettle bell training and began integrating this rigorous and effective training method at Iron Core. He went on to gain his CK-FMS (Certified Kettle bell - Functional Movement Specialist) in 200?, Z-Health R-phase (Rehabilitation, Restoration, and Re-education) in 2009 and Z-Health I-phase (Integration: Vision, Vestibular, and Proprioception) in 2009. By integrating these modalities into his training, Os began seeing dynamic results in his clients, including increased strength, flexibility, less injuries, and healthier movement patterns. Recently, Os got certified as a Strong First Kettle bell instructor.

Os has over 20 years of successful, personal training experience in San Diego, but his foundation of physical training and teaching didn’t start here. Having practiced martial arts from the age of 12, Os opened his own martial arts school in Puerto Rico at the age of 16, serving over 120 students weekly. He kept the school running for three, successful years. Os joined the U.S. Army in 1997 and took on the physical training duties for his unit, motivating and training soldiers. After Os left the military in 2004, it was a natural fit to continue in the path of physical training, since he is a natural leader and dedicated to the cultivation of the physical body. Os believes the benefits of physical training go far beyond external body composition; including better movement, increased energy, fewer injuries, more confidence, better mental health, internal physical health (heart, lungs, digestive system, etc.), and much, much more.

Dr. Eric Bender is a certified chiropractic sports physician (C.C.S.P.) and the team doctor for True Motion. From a young age, Eric was very athletic and played sports all year round. He attended San Diego State University with the goal of becoming a psychologist, but during his time at SDSU he was dealing with severe back pain that kept him out of activities that he had always loved to do. While still in school, he got under the care of a chiropractor and quickly got his active life back, which is when he began to re-think how he could make the greatest impact in healthcare and changed course in his career.

When in grad school, Eric found that while chiropractic adjustments are a very important component of living a healthy life, he learned that those adjustments could be very short-lived without knowing how to properly strengthen the body to hold those corrections and avoid the same injuries over and over. Through the extensive education he obtained in neurology during graduate school, he discovered that training the body in a way to make new connections in the brain was the perfect way to make chiropractic adjustments as effective as possible for his clients. He went on to open his own clinic in San Diego, and later teamed up with some of the best trainers San Diego has to offer to open up True Motion Human Performance.

Dr. Bender is proficient in managing injuries that range from something an athlete sustained on the field to the repetitive stress injuries that regularly affect many people in their day to day lives. His primary focus is finding the problems that have led to each patient’s injuries and taking them through a care plan to make a lasting fix to the underlying issue. He utilizes various therapies to get his patients back to full strength, ranging from spinal and extremity manipulation, biomechanics training, neuromuscular re-education, Rock taping, instrument-assisted soft tissue release, manual therapy for soft tissue, and flexion-distraction therapy.

Kaitlin Davis is a Florida native and has always loved the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys a myriad of activities -- hiking, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, beach volleyball, and swimming. She enjoyed playing softball, basketball, soccer, and volleyball while growing up in the panhandle. As a teenager, she began her journey into track and field and continued that venture throughout college as a discus thrower for the University of Florida in Gainesville. Kaitlin graduated Cum Laude from UF in 2013 with a dual degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, and Psychology.

As a high level athlete most of her upbringing, she struggled with common sports injuries that lingered through the years, despite regular chiropractic visits and massages. In addition to old injuries, Kaitlin also experienced a head injury prior to college which resulted in memory issues, brain fog, and gut dysfunction.

Kaitlin began her studies as a chiropractic student in 2014 at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where she quickly discovered her love for Functional Neurology. It was through this method of chiropractic care that she was able to begin treatments that helped resolve her gut, memory, and brain fog issues.

Making it her mission to help athletes like herself while exploring different fields of chiropractic care, she discovered Z-Health, a movement-based neurological therapy that helps with athletic enhancement, as well as injury recovery. It was through this program that her chronic athletic injuries finally resolved. While attending Life University, Kaitlin attended over 400 hours of study through seminars and additional education in order to become knowledgeable in Z-Health and neuroscience. Kaitlin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Life University in 2018 and moved to her new home in San Diego where she joined the True Motion team.

Kaitlin’s fascination with the brain and its extensive capabilities has encouraged her to continue to educate herself through Z-Health courses, reading research, and collaboration with others in the field. She is a testament to the techniques she practices and has made it her mission to bring this brain-based chiropractic approach to her current and future patients.

Heather Fenwick

Heather Fenwick is an integrative practitioner specializing in acupuncture, herbology, and yoga. She graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2015 and went on to become a licensed acupuncturist. A veteran yoga instructor with over ten years of teaching experience, she has completed several 200 hour yoga teacher trainings, in addition to leading yoga teacher trainings.

She melds her knowledge of ancient yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom with traditional Chinese medicine to give well-rounded, heart-centered care for physical as well as mento-emotional imbalances. She offers one-on-one yoga combined with acupuncture sessions for a multi-faceted healing experience.

A “recovering gypsy”, Heather spends a lot of time on the road, leading yoga retreats to India, Central America, as well as locally. She has sat through 40 hours worth of silent meditation retreats in the Himalaya mountains, and over a year of her life travelling throughout India. He completed his Masters of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine at the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. He is currently enrolled at PCOM for his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and will finish in 2018.

Jared has worked as a registered nurse for the last 10 years at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, San Diego CA. During his time as a cardiac nurse he has realized the importance of preventative and holistic medicine.

While attending PCOM he enjoyed studying sports medicine and Japanese meridian therapy. He trained in pediatrics at Rady Children’s Hospital. Jared specializes in pain management, sports medicine, & pediatrics. He understands the importance of integrative medicine and wants to help people function at their highest potential.

Nadia Ramo graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in 2016 with a Master’s in East Asian Medicine. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree at PCOM while continuing to practice Acupuncture and Massage. Nadia likes to assess the body from a holistic standpoint where she analyzes internal functions (digestion, respiration, circulation, thoughts) and how they contribute to her patient’s symptoms and ailments. Nadia’s massage background has inspired her to extensively study fascial lines of the human anatomy due to it’s systemic and distal effects on the entire body. Her massages always include utilizing the meridian network of the body; pressure points, trigger points, and muscle motor points. She assess the body through the lens of an Acupuncturist as this viewpoint will guide her massage to be more systematically and structurally effective to treat the pattern diagnosed from the perspective of an Acupuncturist. Nadia’s Acupuncture treatments will include massage as well as Moxibustion (moxa), an extremely effective herbal heat therapy. Talia has been in the fitness industry for 10 years. Terry participated in athletics all of his life, which eventually led to him joining the marines right out of high school. During his time in the marines, he was tested by some of the most challenging forms of physical and mental training the military has to offer. After completing this training, he had become even more interested in how the human body and the brain react to training.

After his experience in the marines, he went on to become a personal trainer. After years of personal training, he knew there was more to the science of physical training through the lens of the nervous system, which led him to begin his training with Z-Health Performance Solutions. Through this highly researched brain based training system, Terry has been able to help his clients get out of pain, quickly increase their strength and improve their athletic performance by approaching the three key systems that constantly feed into the brain. These three key systems are the proprioceptive (body), visual and vestibular systems. When all three of these systems are assessed and trained individually and in the beginning of training of a new client, amazing results follow suit.
